September 2020: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are closed for all inside training classes until at least March 2021. Owner Adele Yunck has started to offer a new all-on-line Maneuvers class and will continue to work on developing more on-line offerings over the next 6 months.

Jumpstart On-Line Working Spot
Jumpstart On-Line Working SpotThis is our new-in-2020 all on-line basic obedience class. Each week, you will have several videos to watch on-line, which will enable you to start training your dog. The students and instructor will meet once a week for a class via the Zoom platform. Students will take turns working on a given exercise with feedback from the instructor. To participate in the class, you need the ability to sign in to a Zoom meeting and position a computer web-cam/tablet/smart phone so that the instructor can watch you and your dog working on the class exercises. Teach basic obedience commands (eye contact, come, sit, down, stay, loose-leash walking, leave it, back aways). Class focuses on basic control needed for everyday life with your dog and on basic problem solving, such as stopping your dog from jumping on people. Prerequisites No prior training required. |

Notes: Since we are unable to hold in-person training classes right now due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have created an on-line version of our Jumpstart Obedience course.
We need a minimum of 3 students to sign up to hold this section of the class, and we will take a maximum of 6 working-spot students. To ensure that you are ready for the Zoom meeting on the first class, please attend the orientation session: Tuesday February 2, 2021 at 6:00 PM, which is one week before the class is scheduled to start. The goal of the orientation session is to ensure that the instructor can see you and your dog in your training area, how it looks when the instructor puts you on "Spotlight", what it looks like when the instructor switches to a different person, and that you can mute and unmute yourself. Once at least 3 people have signed up for a given section, you will receive an email from us with information about how to log into the Zoom orientation meeting, as well as the link to the actual class Zoom meeting. Maneuvers On-Line - Auditing Spot
Maneuvers On-Line - Auditing SpotThis is Adele's first all on-line competition obedience course. In the course, you will learn how to teach your dog power steering commands for improved body awareness (forward, backward, side-step right and left, perch work, and tight turns to the right and left). All the video lessons are hosted on the Thinkific platform. An auditing spot in the course gives you full access to all of the course's video lessons on the Thinkific platform for a full 6 months from when you start the lessons, as well as access to the course Facebook group for that same 6 months. You may read all of the posts and watch all the videos posted by students with working spots and my critiques on the Facebook group, but may not post videos about your dog. You may ask technical questions about using the Thinkific site. Prerequisites Your dog should have basic attention on you, and you should be able to get your dog to sit from a stand and stand from a sit. |
